A történet négy barátról szól, akik eleinte még öten iszogatnak egy angol pubban és a következő kirándulásukat tervezgetik, azonban az éjszaka váratlan tragédiával ér véget, mikor egy közeli kisboltba betérve ötödik társukat két rabló megöli. A következő képsorokon már a skandináv vadonban találjuk magunkat, ahová a négy barát társuk meggyászolására, másrészt saját teljesítményük és állóképességük próbára tételére érkezett.
Addig nincs is az egésszel semmi probléma, amíg az egyiküknek ki nem fordul a térde egy óvatlan lépés alkalmával. Ekkor úgy határoznak, hogy nem követik tovább a kijelölt turista-útvonalat, helyette inkább lerövidítik az utat a közeli erdőn át. Az erdő azonban éjfekete titkokat rejt és egyáltalán nem biztos, hogy mindannyian megérik a reggelt.
